With opportunities to select from a wide range of directed research areas, a small student-to-faculty ratio, and access to world-class research facilities, graduate students in Rice University's Department of Mathematics receive the benefits of being part of an internationally renowned research university and Rice's connection with Houston's premier research, science and educational institutions. Our program is designed for students with a high level of mathematical ability who wish to become research mathematicians.
